Jazz Musician and Composer Håvard Lund, has teamed up with Norwegian Architects TYIN tegnestue and Rintala Eggertson to create the Fordypningsrommet fleinvaer, a charming workplace, studio and community located on the remote island of Fleinvær, north of mainland Norway.
Håvard Lund explains “I wanted to create a unique office in the world, initially it was meant as a workplace for myself, a writing lodge of sorts,’ explains Lund. ‘as time went on, I felt an urge, a need, to share what I had found on fleinvær with others. I wanted to create a workspace unlike anything else in the world.’
Accessible only by boat, the architects have built a tiny ecosystem which in addition to the perched office consists of small charming houses, a canteen, lodges and even a sauna.
