An Estimator / Construction Estimating Assistant is needed to join a multi award winning creative design and manufacture company based in Newhaven. Learning from the In-House Estimator, the Estimator / Construction Estimating Assistant, will play a crucial role in supporting the design, project managers and sales teams by providing accurate cost estimates for various projects in the retail and event sector. You’ll interact with suppliers, subcontractors, and external partners to collect essential information, skilfully negotiate competitive quotes, and showcase your meticulous attention to detail while crafting detailed and comprehensive cost estimates. In short, you’ll work closely with internal teams to ensure a crystal-clear understanding of project requirements whilst maintaining meticulous records of estimates, contracts, and supplier/subcontractor information.

To qualify... You could be a Estimator / Construction Estimating Assistant / Junior Estimator / Estimating Assistant / Project Cost Assistant / Junior Project Estimator / Junior Cost Analyst or similar with a CV that demonstrates:

  • A basic understanding of construction, project management, and cost estimation principles.
  • You are computer literate and skilled in Microsoft Excel, some exposure to estimating software would be a bonus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to conduct research, source materials, and negotiate pricing.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and industry trends.
  • An understanding and appreciation for environmentally sustainable practices in construction.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • You have a strong enthusiasm for advancing your career and a keen desire to progress and grow
  • An enthusiasm for contributing to innovative and exciting projects.
